Present: Chairman Dale Simonson, Members Paul Szymaszek, Keith Korbein, Justin Sornsin, Shannon Vogele, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Administrative Assistant Linda Salzwedel

The meeting was called to order at the town hall in the Town of Germantown at 5:30 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance
The pledge of allegiance was recited by all.

August 5 meeting minutes
A motion was made by Justin Sornsin, seconded by Keith Korbein to approve the minutes from the August 5, 2015 commission meeting. Motion carried.

Review of Ordinance 7 and 31 that were approved at the Aug 5th Planning Commission meeting.
It was decided last month to wait until the next meeting to send these two to the board. These two will now be put on the agenda for the October Board meeting, to be voted on.

Ordinance 7- Snowmobiles changes are to add the following streets to Section II, a), (3)

  • 15th Avenue north from Hwy G to 32nd Street
  • 16th Avenue north from County G to 32nd Street

Ordinance 31- State of Emergency Add the text in bold to 31.6(6) Succession to authority of Town Chairperson.  In the event that the Town Board Chairperson is absent from the state or is physically unavailable to exercise the authority vested in this ordinance, or has been incapacitated by accident, disease or injury, then the powers contained in this ordinance shall transfer to a person designated by a Resolution, enacted in May of each year, naming a Line of Succession approved by a majority vote of the Town Board.

Discussion and possible approval of recommending to the board changes to the fee schedule for Ordinances 4 & 8.
Ordinance 4 – Driveway Access: A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Justin Sornsin, to recommend to the board to raise the permit fee from $10 to $20. Motion carried.

Ordinance 8 – Camping: A motion was made by Justin Sornsin, seconded by Keith Korbein, to recommend to the board to raise the permit fee from $10 to $20. Motion carried.

These two will be put on the agenda for the Board meeting, to be voted on.

Discussion and possible approval of other changes to ordinances 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18

Ordinance 9 – Regulating Land Use   A motion was made by Justin Sornsin, seconded by Keith Korbein, to recommend to the board to add the following sentence to the end of Section 11, D: “Proof of insurance, security and compliance with this and any other pertinent Town ordinance must be presented prior to the renewal permit being granted.”  Motion Carried.

Ordinance 13 – Regulating Traffic  A motion was made by Justin Sornsin, seconded by Keith Korbein, to recommend to the board to remove the word “culvert” and add “special and seasonal weight limitations” to section VI, 2.

Ordinance 14 – Swim Area and No Wake in Buckhorn State Park. No action taken. No Changes to be made.

Ordinance 15 – Town Roads.  No action taken at this time.

Ordinance 16 – Assigning Road Names. No action taken. No changes to be made.

Ordinance 17 – No Parking. No action needed, but the ordinance has expired so it will be moved off the ordinance list.

Ordinance 18 – Hand Guns. Tabled until next meeting.

Possibly delete ordinance 13.
Ordinance 13 will not be deleted.
