Present:  Chairman Rosetta Boyle, Supervisors Gregg Haunroth, Dale Simonson, Jim Collis, and Ray Feldman, Emergency Management Director Fred Cobbs, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Town Officer Cameron McChesney

Absent:  None

The meeting was called to order in the Town of Germantown at 6:00 p.m.

Resignation

A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Jim Collis to accept the resignation of Rosetta Boyle as Town Chairman.  Motion passed 4-0.

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Dale Simonson, to approve Gregg Haunroth Town Chairman.  Motion passed 3-0 with one abstention.

Appointment

Gregg Haunroth appointed Bruce “Skip” Barton to fill the open Supervisor’s position.

Minutes

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Dale Simonson, to approve the minutes from December’s meetings.  Motion carried 5-0.

A motion was made by Gregg Haunroth, seconded by Dale Simonson, to approve the Treasurer’s Report and checks 25341-25567 totaling $46,305.87, checks 104-108 totaling $1,702,823.48, and EFTs totaling $6,441.19.  Motion carried 5-0.

Accountant

Discussion was held regarding moving to a local accounting firm.  The proposal will be supplied to the board members for review and possible action at the February meeting.

Lambert’s Contract

A motion was made by Dale Simonson, seconded by Jim Collis, to enter into a contract with Lampert’s Forest Products to do work in the brush dump and to cut dead trees along 17th Avenue at no cost to the Township.  Motion carried. 5-0.

A motion was made by Dale Simonson, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve Operator’s License applications from Crystal Weight, Michelle Lang, and Michael Schultz.  Motion carried 5-0.

Waterway Markers

George Vukich provided information about an application for a designated swim area in front of the Harbor condominiums.  The application requires Town Board approval before being submitted to O’Dells Bay and the DNR.   The board asked Mr. Vukich to provide a legal description of the area to be designated.  Once the information has been received the board will review and consider action.

Building Inspector’s Fee Schedule

Building Inspector Tracy Johnson has asked that the Town consider restructuring the fee scheduled related to building permits.  Dick Martin will provide more information at the February meeting.

Public Safety

Mauston Ambulance plans to be a paramedic service beginning March 1, 2015.  There will be a meeting next week with Mauston ambulance regarding an inter-agency agreement for the purchase of a fly car.  Radios are going to be re-programmed.  If there is an issue with the reprogramming, we can apply for a grant that will cover 75% of the purchase price of new radios.

Roads

No Report

Parks/Hall

Information will be provided at next month’s meeting regarding the placement of piers at the Germantown Park.

Board Reports

Dale Simonson – Planning Commission is continuing to review Ordinances.  Changes will only be made to Ordinances that require a large overhaul.

Gregg Haunroth – A meeting was held at the Town Hall with himself, Rosetta Boyle, the three appointed members of the board for Sanitary District 2, and Town Attorney Bill Curran.  Mr. Curran was able to explain to the board members the extent to which the Town is involved with and responsible for the Sanitary District, and provided information on how they should move forward on various subjects.

Zoning

NO permits issued in December.  Totals for 2014 are 55 permits issued, 27 for new houses, total value $6.5 million.

Public Comment

Bill Bruce mentioned that when considering piers at the park to keep in mind that Town ordinance allows for a length of 80 feet.

Brad Pavloski recognized Rosetta Boyle’s service to the Township.
