Discussion and possible approval of change to fire protection funding
Three ways on how to fund put fire protection on the tax bill: one is to include in the levy as is done currently, second is to put as separate line item and keep levy the same but must go to referendum to have voters approve, and third is to put as separate line item and reduce the levy by 2013’s amount paid for fire protection which requires just Board approval. Board can decide on how to put fire protection on the tax bill to collect funds to pay the bill, but townspeople vote on the levy. Keith Korbein made a motion to change the method of collecting fire fees by placing the fees on the tax bill as a separate item and reducing the levy by the 2013 fees paid as per State Statute 66.0602(2m), seconded by Tamaya Loewe.
A roll call vote was taken: Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Abstain, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion passed 4-0 with 1 abstention.

Public Comment
Questions re: changing the fire protection funding:
how much will individual tax bills go down: depends on individual property value,
when will it be effective: effective for next tax season,
and how will people be notified: on the insert that comes with the tax bills.
Question on a board mileage reimbursement check for mileage to attend Board of Review training; one supervisor submitted mileage while the other Board member chose not to submit their mileage.
