–Discussion on Transient/Peddlers permit/license Tabled.
–Discussion on Data Centers
Environmental impact is a major public concern. Data centers could be large buildings located on tracts of land using large amounts of resources; or, could be as small as in a homeowner’s computer on a homeowner’s lot. For a project, one strong thought was to not sign an NDA as they are not good for community relations. The county does not have zoning for these, so it falls to local municipalities to have zoning that would kick in -a conditional use process. A member of the public suggested a note be put in tax newsletter on this. WTA will present and record a Town Law Conference Zoom meeting on October 30 regarding data centers and AI which WTA will record and we can listen to at a future commission meeting.
–Discussion on Ordinance 22 and 25 recommended changes from Koopman Tabled to next month.
–Discussion on additional updating to Ordinance 27 Tabled to next month.
–Discussion on Comprehensive Plan
2017 was the last major update of the town’s comprehensive plan. Items in the current plan were highlighted that will be part of the future update discussion. UniverCity Year, sanitary district, and health department documents would also be utilized for this update. A survey to property owners will be part of this process, with the ability to complete them via online/paper.
