Regular Meeting Minutes

August 12, 2025

Present:              Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Tamaya Loewe, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray Feldman, Emergency Management Director, Chistopher Leopold, Public Works Director Craig Cox, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:                 Zoning Administrator Dick Martin

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall. 

 

Verification of Posting

Proper posting was verified by Susan Ganther.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Kieth Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax to approve the July meeting minutes.  

Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve general fund checks and EFTs 14836-14883 totaling $91,258.81, tax account check 1593 totaling $700.31 and payroll liabilities totaling $6,786.14.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Resolution 2025-5

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve Resolution 2025-5 Amending the 2025 Budget.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Barefoot PUD #17

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve the final PUD plan for Barefoot PUD #17.  A roll call vote was taken: Loewe – N, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 4-1.

 

Blacktop Quote

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve up to $1,000 for the purchase and preparation of recycled blacktop for the helicopter pad.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Emergency Management

Mauston Ambulance is working on the 2026 budget and is purchasing a new ambulance.

 

Roads

Mowing and tree clean up continue.  New windsocks were hung at the helicopter landing zones.

 

Zoning/Permits

15 permits were issued in July.  13 were for new homes.

 

Parks/Hall

2 quotes were received last minute for replacement of failing air conditioner and furnaces.  The quotes will be reviewed at a future meeting as the systems are still functioning.

 

Board Report

None

 

Public Comment

Question on plans for plowing additional roads and more space in the brush dump. Response: In the future an additional plow vehicle will need to be purchased.  Space in the brush dump will continue to grow as sand is harvested from the pile and used on roads. 

 

Question on road construction standards for roads. Response: Roads are required to be built to standards set by the State of Wisconsin before they are accepted by the town. 

 

Question on water management in subdivisions.  Response:  The water is regulated by the DNR.  Any problems or complaints should be directed at them.

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to go into closed session.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Open Session

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to go into open session.  A roll call vote was taken: Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Adjournment

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Keith Korbein, to adjourn the meeting at 6:44 p.m.  Motion carried 5-0.
