The Public Hearing was called to order by chairperson Shannon Armel at the Germantown Town Hall at 5:30 pm.

This public hearing is to hear public comment regarding amending the Zoning Ordinance (#22).

Many changes deal with section 2.09 on camping.  Other changes deal with updating the requirements for needed copies and for publishing and posting of notices.  And another change has to do with amending the definition of a structure pertaining to retaining walls.  Numbering and lettering are also being updated as changes are made.

A list of questions provided from Susan:

Would like to continue not allowing camping in town center.  However, we cannot completely disallow camping in town center as some land does meet the camping requirements as noted.

Section 2.09 (6) has nothing to do with a timeframe or duration.  Could call it something else.

Why have a season + 30 days? Campers can request to have the additional 30 days added when they first request a permit for a hunting season. But they cannot add it later, as it then becomes a separate permit.

Two campers = 2 camping permits -that is correct. Need to clarify: say 1 camper per permit.

Camping during construction is a year long permit, but only if substantial progress is made on the house.

Social events -how many on a parcel could get confusing -maybe just strike that section.

Park Models are not campers, but they are permitted in an RV park.

No other questions or comments from the public.

The public hearing was closed at 6:10 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Michaele R. Korbein

Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
