Regular Meeting Minutes

February 10, 2026

 

Present:             Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Tamaya Loewe, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Public Works Director Craig Cox, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein,

Absent:              Supervisor Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall.

 

Posting Verification

Proper posting was verified by Susan Ganther.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve the minutes from the January meeting.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

The bank reconciliation was read aloud and placed on file for the auditor.

 

Checks/EFTs

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve general fund checks 15104-151456 and EFTs totaling $475,156.60, Impact Fee EFT totaling $71.85, tax account checks 1610-1625 totaling $4,037,098.12 and payroll liabilities totaling $6,384.85.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Operator’s Licenses

None

 

Preliminary Plat of Lake N Woods

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve the preliminary plat of Lake N Woods with the condition that the lots be returned to ARO from commercial.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Emergency Management

Mauston Ambulance will hold a new ambulance blessing ceremony on February 12. 

 

 

Roads

Winter storm cleanup continues.

Final dump clean up will happen closer to spring.

Public works is getting quotes for new plow trucks. 

 

Zoning Administrator’s Report

No permits were issued in January.

 

Board Reports

Keith Korbein –              Attended the Wisconsin Town’s Association meeting and received the required Board of Review training for 2026.  Good information on a variety of subjects was learned. 

Gervase Thompson has retired from the Planning Commission.

 

Ken Jax –                            Also attended the Wisconsin Town’s Association meeting and received the required Board of Review training.

 

Public Comment

Question regarding board member meeting attendance. Answer – No statute setting requirements. 

 

Question for clarification on the acceptance of roads that were paved late last year.  Answer – Those roads were not accepted and are not currently being maintained by the town.

 

Question for clarification on the location of Lake N Woods.  Answer – it is on Hwy G and 40th near Castle Rock Gardens.
