Regular Meeting Minutes

February 13, 2024

 

Present:              Chairman, Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Tamaya Loewe, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Emergency Management Director, Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at the town hall at 6:00 p.m.

 

Verification of Posting

The agenda was posted at the three posting places and online.

 

Offers for Truck

There were two offers made on the pick-up truck.  One for $1,400 and one for $2,500.  The town had reserved the right to accept or deny any offer.   Chris offered to place the truck on the Wisconsin Auction site in hopes of a better result.  Use of this site has been very successful in the past.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve the minutes of the January meetings.   Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

The reconciliation was read and placed on file for the audit.

 

Checks

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve general fund checks 13990-14048 totaling $443,165.03. park account check 5037 totaling $30.14, municipal court check 2015 totaling $114.00, impact fee check 5038 totaling $210.55, and ARPA transfer to the general fund for $8,011.16.  Motion carried 5-0.

Rescinding of Resolution 2023-10 Amending the 2023 Budget

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to rescind Resolution 223-10 Amending the 2023 Budget due to a calculation error.  A roll call vote was taken: Tamaya – Y,

Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y,  Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Resolution 2023-10 (2)

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve Resolution 2023-10(2) Amending the 2023 Budget.  A roll call vote was taken: Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y,  Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Audit

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to accept the 2022 audit. A roll call vote was taken:  Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y,  Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Employee Handbook

Changes and updates were discussed related to vacation and sick pay, employment at will, and probationary periods.  A final copy will be made, and up for potential approval at a future meeting.

 

ARPA

Tabled for future meeting.

 

Emergency Management

Mauston Ambulance had their annual meeting.  They are planning open houses for later this year. 

A radio was installed in the new truck. 

 

Roads

Dick should have a list of potential 2024 road projects at the next meeting. 

Beavers are active on 20th street.  Dick will contact the USDA about trapping.

 

Zoning

There was one permit issued in January for a new home.

 

Board Reports

Tamaya Loewe – County wide broadband improvements are being worked on.  A lot of grant money is going to be available. 

Keith Korbein – Attended the Wisconsin Towns Association meeting.

Gregg Haunroth – Was notified by the Sherrif’s Department that last year’s Deputy will not be returning.  6 people have signed the posting for the position.  Interviews will be scheduled.

Ray Feldman – Asked about water hazard signs on 15th by the boat ramp.  Dick will get them ordered and installed.

 

Public Comment

A member of the public commented about the amount of garbage in the ditches of 38th since the snow melted.

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.  Motion carried 5-0.
