Regular Board Meeting Minutes
July 14, 2026
Present: Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Tamaya Loewe, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Public Works Director Craig Cox, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein
Absent: Supervisor Ray Feldman
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at the town hall at 6:00 p.m.
Posting
Posting was confirmed by Susan Gather and Craig Cox.
Minutes
A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve the June meeting minutes. Motion carried 4-0.
Bid Opening
Bids were read as follows: Fahrner Asphalt $140,609.00, Scott Construction $104,233.47. A motion was made by Gregg Haunroth, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to accept the lowest bid after review by Craig Cox confirming the bids matched the project specifications. Motion carried 4-0.
Bank Reconciliation
The bank reconciliation was read and placed on file for audit.
Checks
A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve general fund checks 15330-15385 totaling $432,758.25, impact fee EFT totaling $2,000.00, and payroll liability payments totaling $6,371.90. Motion carried 4-0.
Liquor and Operator’s Licenses
A motion was made by Keith Krobein, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to approve a Class B Combination License and soda license to Kozy’s LLC. A roll call vote was taken: Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve operator’s licenses for Sara Muehlenkamp, Hailey Barker, Laura Belfanz, Eden Spinelli, Monet Gregory, Aubrianna Cruz, Alexis Spiers, Elise Gaston, Brynn Barknecht, Destiny Shay and Scott Turcotte. Motion carried 4-0.
Committee Appointments
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Gregg Haunroth, to renew all committee appointments and a new appointment to the Planning Commission, Sally Luehman. A roll call vote was taken: Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y. Motion carried 4-0.
Resolution 2026-5 Identifying the Line of Succession for Proclaiming an Emergency or Disaster in the Town of Germantown
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve Resolution 2026-5 naming the line of succession as follows: Gregg Haunroth, Ken Jax, Keith Korbein, Tamaya Loewe, Ray Feldman. Motion carried 4-0.
Resolution 2026-6 Amending the 2026 Budget
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve resolution 2026-6. A roll call vote was taken: Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y. Motion carried 4-0.
Software
Information gathering will continue July 20th regarding the potential purchase and implementation of permitting software.
Public Works
Tree cleanup and ditch mowing continues
One of the tractors is in the process of being repaired
New plow trucks were picked up
Old salt shed roof needs repair
Spray injection road patching was completed in various locations
Permits
15 permits were issued in June. 8 were for new homes.
Board Reports
Keith Korbein Mauston Ambulance had 355 calls in May. 24 were in the Town of Germantown. Dispatch received a lot of fireworks calls over the 4th. Working on updating radio inventory.
Gregg Haunroth Ramp installed on piers in park. Playground work continues. Participating in staff meetings at Mauston Ambulance. Sent ordinance violation letter to property in Whistling Wings.
Public Comment
Question about golf carts on town roads after Wisconsin Dells voted to allow it.
Answer- The town has not voted to allow it and does not have any intention to do so.
Question about whether the town has investigated data centers. Answer – the planning
commission has that on their radar to delve into.
