Emergency Management

Mauston Ambulance is meeting with the new municipalities that will be joining the service as of 12-31-2023.

Be vigilant about open fires and fireworks.  Even with the rain that was received a lot of that was dried out by winds.

Wildlife Estates is attempting to form an HOA to oversee road maintenance.  Their roads are private.

Seatbelt use for UTV’s is being enforced.  The Sheriff’s Department has been very visible within the township.

Roads

Crack filling is still to be done.

There are still street signs and stop signs being stolen.  Sometimes just the sign, other times the sign and post.  Each one that needs to be replaced costs the town more than $100.  The Sheriff’s Department is aware of the problem and is keeping watch.  There are decals that can be put on the signs so if they are stolen and found by law enforcement they could be identified as belonging to the town and the person could be charged with possession of stolen property.

Zoning

There were 9 permits issued in June.  6 were for new homes.  There have been permits issued for 27 new homes this year to date.

Parks

The park is seeing a lot of use.  Especially the beach.

Board Reports

Jim Collis –          He has noticed the visibility of law enforcement throughout the town.

Keith Korbein –  He is planning on attending the Wisconsin Town’s Association annual convention.

Gregg Haunroth –            There has been an analysis of the yearly cost of the Sheriff’s Department deputy and a 4 year look at the number of calls taken each month.

Germantown’s deputy was injured on the job while in another municipality.  Her absence will result in priority coverage by other deputies.

Ken Jax –                              Ken will also plan on attending the Wisconsin Town’s Association annual convention.
