Present:  Supervisors Ken Jax, Keith Korbein, Jim Collis, Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:  Chairman Gregg Haunroth

 

Call to Order 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall.

 

Verification of Posting 

The agenda was posted at the three regular posting places and online.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve the minutes of the May board meeting.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation/Treasurer’s Report

The report was read and placed on file for audit.

 

Checks and EFTs

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Ray Feldman to approve checks 13661-13717 totaling $218,095.76, checks 5028-5029 totaling $77,847.20, and checks 5031-5033 totaling $78,703.09 and payroll liability EFTs totaling $8,593.55.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Operator’s Licenses 

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Jim Collis, to approve operator’s licenses for

Riley Ganther, Rachel Hartman, Sean Prieve, Chloe Walsh-Laehn, Sean Fank, Kalli Knoble, Kalecia Kolinski, Brittnee Cox, Ryan Hartman, Sarah Veatch, Erica Woodruff, Dylan Ray, Sheridan Reichel, Alexis Rachas, Nerissa Hedge, Amber Rasmussen, Danica Flint, Isabel Earhart, James Krus, Lee Pingel,  Paul Hill, Andrew Schaitel, Abigail Schaitel, Benjamin Schaitel, Richard Fluegel, Heather Mead, Jeanette Williamson, Cade Hall, Angelique Acevedo, Katelyn Oleinik, Jacqueline, Barr, Alex Mallory, Brenna Taylor, Caroline Kawatski, Ellie Falk, Korin Stutesman, Sara Muehlenkamp, Christine Busleta, Annie Friedrich, Luke Peterson, Kristy Mauer, Gunnar Pedersen, Cara Stridde, Joseph Bonfanti, Jenica Hein, Rain Held, Timothy Carney.

Motion carried 4-0.

 

A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Jim Collis, to approve an operator’s license for Samantha Hug on the condition that a current class certificate is provided.  Motion carried 4-0.

An operator’s license application was tabled pending further information be provided by the applicant in relation to a background check.

 

Committee Appointment 

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Ray Feldman, to accept the resignation of Ken Jax from the Planning Commission and the appointment of Tamaya Loewe to the Planning Commission.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

ARPA Funds

No action was taken.

 

Highway 58 Rezoning

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Ken Jax, to rezone to rezone to commercial 2 acres of parcel 290121257.  A roll call vote was taken:  Collis – Y, Korbein – Y, Jax -Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Rezoning Land for Addition to Bear Paw PUD 

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve the rezoning of 318 acres for addition into the Bear Paw PUD.  A roll call vote was taken:  Collis – Y, Korbein – Y, Jax -Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Public Safety/Emergency Management

Chris attended a meeting on radios. 

There was an active shooter drill done in Mauston with law enforcement, fire, and EMS. 

Law enforcement members present were encouraged to enforce laws against golf carts on roads.

Municipalities looking to be served by Mauston Ambulance are currently working with their individual boards on meeting requirements to obtain service.

 

Roads

Road work has been completed.

Mowing has begun.  

Crack filling will be done in fall.  The amount of work done will be based on the budget.

There was additional space created for the brush dump to be used when the original area is at capacity. 

 

Zoning 

10 permits were issued in May.  8 were for new homes.  There have been 21 permits issued for new homes this year to date.

 

Parks/Hall

Buoys have arrived and will be installed.  The swimming area will be designated at the beach in the park and will prevent boats from parking on the beach.

 

Board Reports 

Ray Feldman –    The county has completed work at Castle Rock County Park which included additional electric campsites.

Ken Jax – The park is a work in progress but is seeing a lot of use. 

Jim Collis – Encouraged caution with campfires and other burning due to dry conditions.

 

Public Comment 

A resident asked for a Facebook post introducing the new Deputy now that she has begun working in Germantown.

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Jim Collis to adjourn at 6:35 p.m.  Motion carried 4-0.
