Regular Meeting Minutes

March 12, 2024

 

Present:              Chairman, Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Tamaya Loewe, Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:  None

 

Call to Order 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall.

 

Verification of Posting 

The agenda was posted at the three public locations and on the website.

 

Truck Bids

The 2008 Ford F150 was placed on the Wisconsin Surplus Auction site and the final bid was $2,850.  A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to accept a bid for $2,850.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Minutes 

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve the minutes from February’s meeting.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation 

The bank reconciliation was read and placed on file for audit.

 

Checks 

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Tamaya Loewe to approve general fund checks 14049-14087 totaling $72,601.24, Impact Fee eft totaling $225.15 and tax account check 1574 totaling $418.23.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Operator’s License  

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve an operator’s license for Shannon Schroeder.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

Employee Handbook

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve the updates to the Employee Handbook.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

ARPA 

Bids will be solicited for a salt shed and remodeling in the town hall.

Town employees will work to fix up the old bathrooms in the park to open this summer.

 

Emergency Management 

The new ambulance has arrived.

February ambulance calls to Town of Germantown were 7 medical calls and 1 fire call. 

Fire danger is very high.  People should use caution.

 

Roads

Planned road work to send out for bids are for Whistling Wings, 16th from 32nd to Water Street, Lucy Lane (using TRIP money) and 22nd

 

Zoning 

4 permits were issued in February.  All were for new houses.  There have been 5 permits for new houses issued so far this year.

 

Parks/Hall

Gregg spoke with a security company about placing additional cameras in the park near the bathrooms.  The current DVR used for cameras will accommodate the addition.  

A quote will also be received for a camera to pan Castle Rock Lake and live stream on the town’s website.  

Some additional rip rap should be purchased and kept for replacement when needed near the beach. 

The mobi mat will be cleaned and straightened out will the draw down has water low. 

 

Board Reports 

Tamaya –             Attended Wisconsin Towns Association meeting.  She became Board of Review certified as required by a member each year.  Other information presented included assessments on income producing properties which should be looked at for homes renting through Airbnb or VRBO. 

 

Keith Korbein –                 Sheriff’s Department should be made aware of ATV and UTV excessive speed on 16th

 

Gregg Haunroth –           A right to cure letter is being delivered for the town by the Sheriff’s Department on a property that has many violations after a fire.

 

Ray Feldman –                 Does there need to be “No ATV or UTV Traffic” signs on park paths?  There are currently signs that say “No Motorized Vehicles”.

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to enter closed session per statute 19.85 (1)(c).  A roll call vote was taken:  Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y, Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Open Session

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to enter open session per statute 19.85 (2).  A roll call vote was taken:  Tamaya – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y, Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Adjourn 

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to adjourn at 7:10 p.m.  Motion carried 5-0.
