Keith Korbein made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 11, 2023 Planning Commission Meeting as presented, seconded by Gervase Thompson; motion passed 4/0.

–Discussion and possible approval of combining Ordinances 13,30,35,46,57 into a road ordinance

This combined ordinance was copied forward from the original five ordinances.  Most of the newly combined proposed traffic ordinance was just copied and pasted from those five ordinances.  Some areas were re-arranged to improve flow, similar areas combined, and duplicated areas removed.

Since Ordinance 13 had most of the verbiage and rather than take a new number for this combined ordinance, the thought was to continue it as Ordinance 13 and rescind Ordinances 30, 35, 46, and 57 noting they were combined into Ordinance 13.

A requirement in 3.2.3 is an official traffic map, which there really is nothing current here. It would be a reference in the office, for use with the traffic ordinance, and for when others request it, to reference locations of signs, culverts, bridges, etc.  This could have several layers if done with software.  A company named Delmar out of WI Dells does that kind of work. Grants may be available to help offset the cost. Shannon will discuss the traffic map with Dick.  She will also call Delmar for more information on their services.

Numbers/codes may need to be affixed to street signs/traffic control devices per WI State Statues as noted in the ordinance section 3.2.2, which may also be of help with any theft of signs.

Noted that the Town may drop speed limits by 10 mph without approval, but to drop more at a time currently needs approval.
