Planning Commission Meeting Minutes

September 13, 2023

Present:            Commission Chair Shannon Armel, Commissioners, Keith Korbein, Gervase Thompson, Mick McCormick, Tamaya Loewe, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:            Zoning Administrator Dick Martin

Public attending:   None

–Call to Order

The Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairperson Shannon Armel at the Germantown Town Hall at 5:30pm. 

–Pledge of Allegiance

–Possible approval of the Minutes from the August meetings.

Gervase Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of both the August 9, 2023 Planning Commission Public Hearing and the August 9, 2023 Planning Commission Meeting as presented, seconded by Keith Korbein; motion passed 5/0.

–Discussion and possible approval of changes to Ordinances 15,4,13,30,35,46,57

Ordinance 15 on road construction was updated by Larry Koopman of Lampert-Lee. The changes were approved by the Town Board on May 9, 2023, so it will not be part of a traffic ordinance. 

Also, Ordinance 4 on driveway access will be left to stand alone, as previously noted.

The biggest need is for the Zoning Administrator to get the traffic map updated so it can be available in the office when referring to the traffic ordinance and for when others ask for it.

During review of the work in progress on a combined ordinance (labeled #XX) of ordinances 13, 30, 35, 46, & 57, it was noted the driveways portion would be removed, as noted above.  Most of the combining was just copying and pasting from the five ordinances. Some areas were re-arranged to improve flow, similar areas combined, and duplicated areas removed.  Section on speed limits still needs to be updated for what the Board approved in July. After reading through, there were additional areas determined to need moving, combining, or deleting because of duplication.

Changes discussed from this evening will be incorporated and sent to Michaele, for her to add the July Board changes on speed zones. She will review and email the updated version to the members and print copies for the members to pick up for review well ahead of the next meeting.
