Planning Commission Meeting Minutes

September 16, 2025

 Present: Commission Chairperson Keith Korbein, Commissioners, Tamaya Loewe, Gervase Thompson, Mick McCormick, Mike Edwards; Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:  Zoning Administrator Dick Martin

Also present were members of the public: Brad Pavloski

–Call to Order

The Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairperson Keith Korbein at the Germantown Town Hall at 5:30pm.

–Pledge of Allegiance

–Possible approval of meeting minutes

Mick McCormick made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 19, 2025 Planning Commission meeting, seconded by Mike Edwards; motion passed 5/0.   

–Work Session continued on Short Term Rentals

Continued with discussion on and adjustments to the revised copy of the work-in-process Short Term Rental ordinance from the August 19 meeting.  Discussed wording of Clerk or Zoning Administrator throughout, missing words, line and italicized words removal, calling it a permit, etc.  Question of how many more hours Town staff will need to process applications but noted this could self-fund once it is in process.  Keith Korbein made a motion to approve the changes as discussed and to approve sending the adjusted copy to the Town Attorney for review, seconded by Mike Edwards; motion passed 5/0. 

–Work Session continued on Room Tax

Discussion continued on the work-in-progress Room Tax Ordinance.  Need to determine yet the legal promotion & tourism entity for the 70% of the room tax to be collected. First collection could be in the third quarter and would be for the first quarter.  Correct a spelling error in section 2, adjust wording, remove underlines and italicized areas, etc.  Mike Edward made a motion to approve the changes as discussed and to approve sending the adjusted copy to the Town Attorney for review, seconded by Mick McCormick; motion passed 5/0.

–Work Session on Fireworks Ordinance

Tabled to next month.

–October meeting

The date will be October 21, 2025, starting at 5:30pm.

–Adjourn

Tamaya Loewe made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mike Edwards; motion passed 5/0. 

Meeting adjourned at 7:24 pm.
