Present:               Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Ken Jax, Keith Korbein, Jim Collis, Ray Feldman, Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 at the town hall.

Sanitary District 2

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Jim Collis, to appoint Lucio Lanza as Sanitary District 2 Commissioner.  A roll call vote was taken:  Collis – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.

Motion carried 5-0.

 

Emergency Management

County Emergency Management Director Jeremy Bonikowske provided information on the Code Red emergency information notification and warning sirens being placed in Juneau County and Wilderness Parks.  He asked that the town make sure that its Emergency Operations Plan is up to date and be regularly reviewed.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Jim Collis, to approve the minutes from April’s meeting.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

The bank reconciliation was read aloud and placed on file for audit.

 

Checks/EFTs

A motion was made bay Jim Collis, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve checks 13107-13131 totaling $46,794.66, and EFTs totaling $6,109.72.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Resolution 2022-1

A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve Resolution 2022-1 Adopting Ward Plan and Designating a Polling Place. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Resolution 2022-2

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve Resolution 2022-2 Amending the 2022 Budget.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Fee Schedule

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve updated fee schedule.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Operator’s License

A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve Operator’s licenses for David Sellnow and Brenna Jilek-Taylor.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Public Safety/Emergency Management

Mauston Ambulance will be applying for funds through the Funding Assistance Pool.  More funds are available this year, so they are hoping to receive extra money.

Mauston Ambulance will also be applying for a one-time flex grant at the end of the summer. 

Mauston Ambulance is currently down 2 employees but have several qualified applicants and hope to be fully staffed by summer.

Chris will be working with Jeremy at Juneau County Emergency Management on Emergency Operations Plan.

 

Roads

The need for additional road signs in O’Dells Bay neat the Dirty Turtle will be looked at.

 

Zoning/Permits

20 permits were issued in April.  14 were for new houses.  32 new house permits have been issued year to date.

 

Parks

There will be a preliminary construction meeting with Olympic Builders discussing things such as timeline. 

 

Board Reports

Ray Feldman   Hwy G open to ATV/UTV traffic.  Riders should note that there will be do driving through Juneau County Park. Undersheriff Zobal mentioned that ATV/UTV related accidents were up 600% last year.

Ken Jax –                              The Planning Commission discussed additional road signs in O’Dells Bay.  The board can consider at a future meeting.

Gregg Haunroth –             He will not be attending next month’s meeting.  Reminder that liquor licenses will be up for approval.

Keith Korbein –                 Keith and Gregg attended the Ambulance Blessing for the new ambulance at Mauston Ambulance.

Jim Collis –                          Even with recent rain the fire danger is still high.  Watch things like campfires.
