Town of Germantown

Official Website of the Town of Germantown, Juneau County, WI

April 5, 2021

This letter it to follow up on the input we received for the Germantown Park.

Several of the written responses received by the town contained incorrect information that should  be corrected.

The Town is NOT looking to commit to spending 2 million dollars on a park, rather only phase 1 with 100% of the funds coming from a $432,785 DNR Stewardship grants and the balance from Impact fees collected and to be collected. The Stewardship grant money comes from many sources including private donations and funds from recreational licenses/permits.

Phase 2 and 3 of the park can only proceed with future approval and funding. These phases are fluid and can be modified. For example, if in the future a soccer field is preferred over frisbee golf, that change could be made

The park plan includes contingency costs to shield the town from overspending if the project goes over budget. Contingency costs are included in public projects as a safeguard against overspending.

The next meeting will be held April 13th at 5:30. This will be an in person and zoom meeting. The agenda and zoom information will follow.

We will take public comment at this meeting. Each person will have 2 minutes to provide their comments. Email [email protected] to be placed on the list of commenters.

I look forward to productive and insightful park input.

Warm regards,
