Board of Review Minutes

May 20, 2019

Present:    Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Skip Barton, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray Feldman, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein,  Assessor Claude Riglemon

Call to Order

The Board of Review was opened at 4:05 p.m. at the town hall.

Chair/Vice Chair

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Ray Feldman, to appoint Gregg Haunroth as Chairperson for Board of Review.  Motion carried 5-0.

A motion was made by Gregg Haunroth, seconded by Ray Feldman, to appoint Ken Jax as Vice Chairperson for Board of Review.  Motion carried 5-0.

Training Requirements

Ken Jax and Susan Ganther have met the training requirements.

Confidentiality Ordinance

The ordinance was passed in 2018.

Review of New Laws

Claude Riglemon had no new laws to report. 

Assessment Roll

The Assessment Roll was received, examined, and certified with no corrections to be made.

Objections

The case for parcel 290122440.31 owned by Hartman Family Trust was heard.  A motion was made by Gregg Haunroth, seconded by Skip Barton, to reduce the assessed value to $22,000.  A roll call vote was taken:  Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.  Notice of Board of Review Determination was provided to Harry Hartman and receipt signed.

The case for parcels 290122439.56 and 290122439.57 owned by Mark Borca was heard.  A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Ken Jax, to reduce the assessed values to $145,000 each.  A roll call vote was taken:  Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.  Notice of Board of Review Determination was provided to Mark Borca and receipt signed.

The case for parcel 290120329 owned by Benjamin Goehring was heard.  The Board of Review believed by a roll call acknowledgement that the assessment was correct.  Barton – Correct, Korbein – Correct, Haunroth – Correct, Jax – Correct, Feldman – Correct.   A notice of Board of Review Determination was provided to Benjamin Goehring and receipt signed.

Adjustment of Board Members

Chairperson Gregg Haunroth had to leave the Board of Review Session.  A motion was made by Gregg Haunroth, seconded by Keith Korbein, to appoint Ken Jax as Chairperson for the remainder of the meeting and alternate Susan Ganther to the Board of Review.  Motion carried 5-0.

Adjournment

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to adjourn the 2019 Board of Review at

6:07 p.m.  A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y, Ganther – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.
