Planning Commission Public Hearing Minutes
April 22, 2025
Present: Commission Chairperson Keith Korbein, Commissioners Gervase Thompson, Tamaya Loewe, Mick McCormick, and Mike Edwards; Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein
Absent: Zoning Administrator Dick Martin
Also Present: 71 public guests which included the Petitioners for Turtle Landing LLC Ray/Jill Monroe and Jay/Katie Larson
The public hearing was opened at 5:30pm.
This hearing was to hear public comments on the petition to Re-zone property located at N7409 17th Ave., New Lisbon, WI. Applicant is Turtle Landing, LLC.
For the 71 total public attending, only 51 had signed in; and of those, only 13 had signed up to speak.
Those 13 were then called upon and given two minutes each to speak. Two others asked to speak who had not signed up to do so and were allowed.
The audience was given instructions on how the hearing will proceed.
Reading of the 6 who submitted written emailed comments were read first, all of which were against the proposal. Then those who signed up to speak got their turn. During this time, signed petitions that were against the rezoning were received from Mario Martinez and added to those already received, for a total of 93 petitions against the proposal. This brought the total submitted on paper against the proposal to 99.
During this time, signed petitions that were in favor of the rezoning were also presented and received from Ray Monroe; the signatures totaled 45, of which 6 were not residents or owners in Germantown, resulting in an overall total on paper of 39 in favor of the proposal.
A majority of the signed petitions and attendees had concerns and comments and were opposed to the rezoning proposal. Also, several questions were asked about the process after this hearing is concluded, which were address by the Planning Commission. This hearing will close and the Planning Commission will then discuss the petition in their meeting immediately following this.
The public hearing closed at 6:15pm
Respectfully submitted,
Michaele R. Korbein, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
