Present: Chairman Dale Simonson, Members Roger Bean, Paul Szymaszek, Larry Zimmerman, Shannon Vogele, Keith Korbein, Bill Bruce, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther
Absent: George Vukich
Meeting was called to order in the Town of Germantown at 5:30 p.m.
A motion was made by Bill Bruce, seconded by Shannon Vogele, to accept the minutes from the June 11, 2014 meeting with the following correction: Paragraph 3 should read “A decision was made to recommend to the Town Board that Ordinance 1 Regulating the Speed of Motor Boats in Castle Rock Gardens.” Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dale Simonson, seconded by Bill Bruce, to amend section 31.6 of Ordinance 31 to read as follows:
31.6 Succession to the authority of Town Chairperson.
“In the event that the Town Chairperson is absent from the state or is physically unavailable to exercise the authority vested in this ordinance, or has been incapacitated by accident, disease or injury, then the powers contained in this ordinance shall transfer to a person designated by a Resolution, enacted in May of each year, naming a Line of Succession approved by a majority vote of the Town Board.”
Bill Bruce stated that the provisions of this ordinance are now governed by the Department of Natural Resources. A motion was made by Larry Zimmerman, seconded by Dale Simonson, to recommend to the Town Board that Ordinance 6 be repealed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Bill Bruce, seconded by Shannon Vogele, to recommend
the following changes to Ordinance 7:
Section II a) Current: 22nd Avenue from Town Line south to 33rd Street
Change to: 22 Avenue from Town Line south to 29th Street
Delete: 20th Avenue south to 36th Street
Add: 15th Avenue north from Hwy G to 32nd Street
Add: 16th Avenue north from County G to 32nd Street
A motion was made by Roger Bean, seconded by Larry Zimmerman, to recommend the following changes to Ordinance 8:
Strike the work “temporarily” from paragraph 4
Change the fee for camping from $10 to $20
In section 7 add “31” numerically after the words “thirty one”
It was decided to table any action on this ordinance until its contents could be compared with other ordinances for duplication.
If no public hearing is required for any recommended changes agreed upon so far by the committee, it is agreed that those recommendations should be presented to the Town Board for approval.
At the August meeting ordinances relating to traffic will be reviewed.
The August meeting will be held on August 11, 2014, at 5:30 p.m.
A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Larry Zimmerman, to adjourn at 6:15 p.m. Motion carried.
