Present: Chairman Dale Simonson, Members Roger Bean, Larry Zimmerman, George Vukich, Keith Korbein, Shannnon Vogele, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther 

Absent: Member Paul Szymaszek

The meeting was called to order in the Town of Germantown at 5:30 p.m.

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by George Vukich, to approve the minutes from the August 25, 2014 public hearing and commission meeting. Motion carried.

Ordinance 38 

A motion was made by Roger Bean, seconded by Keith Korbein, to recommend to the board updates to Ordinance 38 as it was presented. Motion carried.

Road Names 

Dale Simonson met with Sheriff Brent Oleson and the Juneau County dispatchers. The dispatchers said that while there are problems county-wide, there is a high concentration of calls in Germantown where the caller does not know the proper information to provide to dispatch because they are not full time residents with a detailed knowledge of the area to guide emergency services.

It was suggested to dispatch that they begin asking if the caller is in a subdivision to help with location especially with there being duplicate road names.

There was discussion by committee members on how to educate the public to better help emergency services.

Fee Schedule 

There was preliminary discussion on fees. It was discussed what would be worthwhile to assess especially when it comes to recouping the Town’s expenses for a service provided to one individual. More discussion will occur at future meetings.

Ordinance 9 

Roger Bean has reviewed Ordinance 9: Regulating Land Use to see if contents were covered in other ordinances thus making Ordinance 9 unnecessary. It is his opinion that Ordinance 9 should remain on the books with minor changes. Any changes will be reviewed at a future meeting.
