Present:               Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Ken Jax, Keith Korbein, Skip Barton, Ray Feldman, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein, Assistant Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold

Absent:                Emergency Management Director Fred Cobbs, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at the town hall at 6:00 p.m.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax to accept the meeting minutes with a correction of changing the word approve to accept in the section covering checks.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Keith Korbein, to accept the bank reconciliation.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Checks

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Ken Jax to accept checks 12703-12739 totaling $33,866.86, 5001 totaling $4,254.66, 5002 totaling $4,254.66 and 12741 totaling $862.50.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Operator’s Licenses

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve an Operator’s License for Scott Hogan.  Motion carried 5-0.

2 other Operator’s License applications were submitted but were tabled until the next meeting to allow time for further information to be collected.

 

Pier Planner

A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Ken Jax, to adopt the DNR Pier Planner.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Hall Rental

The board will work to determine when it is appropriate to not allow/cancel rentals of the town hall. 

 

 

Public Safety

Mauston Ambulance is working on their 2022 budget.

A new windsock will be installed at the helicopter landing sight at the Public Works building.

 

Roads

Seal coating is done.  Cold mix will be done in September. Crack filling will be done later in August.

 

Permits

14 permits were issued in July.  11 were for new homes.

 

Parks

Next month there will be an update on progress.  Fishing nodes have been removed from the plan due to lack of water depth.

 

Board Reports

Ray Feldman – Recommends that Town look into the UniverCity Year program through UW-Madison.  They may be helpful with things such as traffic studies.

Ken Jax – New room tax legislation passed.  Town should check into this as it relates to Airbnb.

Gregg Haunroth – The office received a notice from the Department of Homeland Security regarding municipal buildings remaining aware of the potential of violence related to the 2020 Presidential election.

Keith Korbein – Employee review need to happen soon.

Skip Barton – Brush dump is being heavily used and not always properly.  Future use and control should be discussed.

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax to adjourn at 6:47 p.m.  Motion carried 5-0.
