Present:               Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Skip Barton, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray                                    Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Asst. Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:               Emergency Management Director Fred Cobbs

 

Call to Order 

The meeting was called to order at the town hall at 6:00 p.m.

 

Minutes 

A motion was made bay Ray Feldman, seconded by Skip Barton, to approve the July meeting minutes. Motion carried 4-0.

 

Treasurer’s Report/Bank Reconciliation/Checks 

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Skip Barton, to accept the Treasurer’s Report and Bank Reconciliation, and approve checks 11538-11585 totaling $49,328.43. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Board of Appeals Appointment 

A motion was made be Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to appoint Jim Keene to the Board of Appeals. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Resolution 2019-5 

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve Resolution 2019-5 Amending the 2019 Budget. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Operator’s License  

A motion was made by Ray Feldman, seconded by Skip Barton, to approve an Operator’s License for John Haeberlin. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Emergency Management 

Christopher Leopold updated the board regarding Mauston Area Ambulance. They are finalizing the service they will provide for Los Dells. MAAA is currently working on next year’s budget. At this time the service is fully staffed.

 

 

Roads 

37th is on schedule to be completed the second week of September.

A culvert was placed on 16th.

Ditches between 16th and 19th need to be cleared

A new salt box for one of the trucks will need to be ordered in the next year.

 

Parks/Town Hall 

The gutters need to be cleaned out at the town hall.

 

Board Reports 

Skip Barton – The placing of windsocks has been delayed because the Gray Electric bucket truck has been busy working on storm damage.

 

Keith Korbein – Attended Wisconsin Towns Association meeting at the Ethanol Plant in Necedah. Senator Marklein was in attendance and discussed future funding of town roads. He also discussed the gas tax and many coming from Illinois to Wisconsin to avoid their recently doubled gas tax.

 

Gregg Haunroth – Eddie Vince offered to donate a pier for the Sheriff’s Department and DNR to use. The town should start working towards hiring a new Sheriff’s liaison to replace Todd who will be working strictly for the County.

 

Ken Jax – Ken and Keith are interested in attending a Town Law Conference in Madison.

 

Ray Feldman – Asked about the status of fixing the bridge in the park. This will get done when the water is down in the spring.

 

Zoning 

11 permits were issued in July. 6 were for new homes. Permits for 52 houses have been issued year to date.

 

Public Comment 

A resident asked about who to contact about noise and law violations related to ATVs. The resident also asked about dangerous tree removal on 17th Avenue.

 

Closed Session 

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Ken Jax, to go into closed session. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Open Session 

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Skip Barton, to go into open session. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Employee Wage Adjustments 

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Ken Jax, to adjust Randy Mullenberg’s wage to $20 per hour and Michaele Korbein’s to $18 per hour. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – A, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y. Motion carried 4-0-1.

 

Adjourn 

A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Keith Korbein, to adjourn at 7:05 p.m. Motion carried 5-0.
