Regular Meeting Minutes

January 14, 2025

 

Present:             Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray Feldman, Tamaya Loewe (after 6:20), Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

 

Absent:              None

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall.

 

Verification of Posting

Posting was verified by Susan Ganther.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve the minutes from December’s meeting.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

Read and placed on file for audit.

 

Checks
A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ray Feldman, to approve general fund checks 14527-14572 totaling $40,026.84, park account transfer of $.07 to close the account, impact fees totaling $168.31 transferred to line of credit, ARPA funds transfer of $42,395.57 to close account, and tax account checks 1681-1685 totaling $2,742,086.04.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Operator’s License

None

 

Emergency Management

Snowmobile safety class being held at town hall.

A search continues for “help sites” to be used for medical helicopter landing zones.

 

Roads

May’s Point is asking for a speed limit reduction on 29th from 45 mph to 25 mph.  Because dropping a speed limit by 20 mph would require a traffic study, the public works department will start with 25 mph signage in the subdivision itself to see if it will have a positive effect on 29th.  It was noted that 29th is a dead end.

 

Zoning Administrator

2024 permit totals are:  96 permits, 64 new homes, total value $26,428,000

 

Parks/Town Hall

Waiting on quote for carpet in the office.

 

Board Reports

Keith Korbein                  There were a lot of New Year’s Eve fireworks.

 

Public Comment

Several members of the public were in attendance to question the large increase in County taxes.

 

Planning Commission Appointments

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Ray Feldman to appoint Keith Korbein as Chair of the Planning Commission.  A roll call vote was held: Tamaya – Y, Keith – Abstained, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y, Ray – Y.  Motion carried 4-0 with 1 abstaining.

 

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to appoint Mike Edwards to the Planning Commission.  A roll call was held, Tamayia – Y, Keith – Y, Gregg – Y, Ken – Y,

Ray – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Adjourn

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to adjourn at 7:06 p.m.  Motion carried 5-0.
