Present: Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Skip Barton, Dale Simonson, Jim Collis, Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Emergency Management Director Fred Cobbs, Assistant Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order at 6:18 p.m. at the Germantown Town Hall.
Minutes
A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Skip Barton to approve the minutes from September’s meeting. Motion carried 5-0.
Reconcilement
A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Dale Simonson, to accept the Treasurer’s Report and bank reconcilement as printed. Motion carried 5-0.
Vouchers
A motion was made by Jim Collis, seconded by Dale Simonson, to approve checks and vouchers 26693-26732 totaling $36,221.12 and EFTs totaling $3,881.09. Motion carried 5-0.
Fire Department Contract
After discussion regarding a 4- year contract it was agreed that the fire department should be contacted to discuss changes including an exit clause and a reduction in the term. No action was taken at this meeting.
Mauston Area Ambulance
The Town of Germantown is asking for an increase in representation on the ambulance board. The board also feels that any future contracts with Mauston Ambulance should not be based solely on assessed value but should also include other factors such as call volume.
Engineering to Straighten 37th Street
The Town’s engineer has quoted a cost of $20,000 to do the engineering work. Brad Pavloski has offered to donate the engineering and base work for the road which would be a substantial cost savings to the Town. More discussion will happen at future meetings.
Road Analysis
The road analysis report was received shortly before the meeting. The information will be reviewed and discussed at a future meeting.
Bank Change
A motion was made by Dale Simonson, seconded by Jim Collis, to approve moving bank accounts from Royal Bank to the Bank of Mauston pending information provided by the Bank of Mauston on insuring deposits over and above regular FDIC insurance. Motion carried 5-0.
Ordinance 52
A motion was made by Dale Simonson, seconded by Ray Feldman, to amend Ordinance 52 regarding the Municipal Court to add the Town of Necedah as a member. Motion carried 5-0.
Public Safety
There were 42 police calls and 15 ambulance calls last month. Radios in the tractors were fixed. There will be no curbside chipping in 2017. Fred will working with Christopher to update the Emergency Operations Plan. A new weather radio will be purchased for the Town Hall.

Board Reports
Jim Collis The November meeting will be moved to Tuesday, November 15 to accommodate the election being held on the regular meeting night.
Gregg Haunroth Roger Bean has resigned his position on the Planning Commission due to moving out of the area.
Dale Simonson Buckhorn Acres is exploring the possibility of blacktopping their roads to turn over the Township.
Zoning
C&B Investments d/b/a Shipwreck has applied for a variance to add kitchen space to the restaurant. A public hearing will be held October 26.
12 permits were issued in September. 7 were for new homes. Permits for 22 new homes have been issued so far this year.
Public Comment
Information was requested regarding the status of the installation of dry hydrants in the Township. It was noted that the Town cannot apply for the grants desired to do so. The fire departments have to apply for the grants and failed to do so this year. The Town hopes that this can happen in 2017.
