Present: Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Skip Barton, Ken Jax, Keith Korbein, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Assistant Emergency Management Director Christopher Leopold, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein
Absent: Supervisor Ray Feldman, Emergency Management Director Fred Cobbs
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:55 p.m. in the town hall.
Minutes
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve the minutes from the September meetings. Motion carried 4-0.
Bank Reconciliation
A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Skip Barton, to accept the bank reconciliation. Motion carried 4-0.
Checks/Vouchers
A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Skip Barton, to approve checks 12218-12267 totaling $177,444.93 and EFT’s totaling $5,017.48.
Operator’s Licenses
A motion was made by Skip Barton, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve an Operator’s License for Courtney Ploeckelman. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Skip Barton, to approve an Operator’s License for Alex Mallory. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to delay approval of an Operator’s License for Kaitlyn Sankey pending additional information be provided by the applicant. Motion carried 4-0.
Eleventh Addition to Island Lake at Copper Point
There were no changes to this portion of the project since the original submission. A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve the Eleventh Addition to Island Lake at Copper Point. A roll call vote was taken: Barton – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y. Motion carried 4-0.
Public Safety/Emergency Management
Mauston Ambulance in encouraging people to be vigilant about wearing masks.
Roads
A resident is asking about the possibility of a stop sign at Water Street and 16th. A possible solution other than a stop sign would be to lower the speed limit and put a “Dangerous Intersection” sign up. A final decision will be made at a future meeting.
Zoning
16 permits were issued in September, 15 were for new houses. There have been permits for 45 new houses year to date.
Parks
The Town has been awarded a $432,000 grant for the park. Final awarding of the entire grant is pending a meeting of the DNR Joint Finance Committee. $250,000 is guaranteed.
Board Reports
Keith Korbein Questioned whether the board should consider having someone in charge of code enforcement.
Wisconsin Town’s Association has new webinars available and he encourages other board members and members of the Planning Commission to watch.
Gregg Haunroth Checking in to whether it is cost effective to be a member of CRAM.
It was brought to the Board’s attention that there was an aggressive phone call placed to the Town Clerk by Diane Dendy followed by an in person interaction that included a threat to make sure a Sheriff’s Deputy was present at the next board meeting. Deputy Morris has been in touch with Ms. Dendy and she is not present at this meeting.
