Regular Meeting Minutes

October 8, 2024

 

Present:              Chairman Gregg Haunroth, Supervisors Tamaya Loewe, Keith Korbein, Ken Jax, Ray Feldman, Zoning Administrator Dick Martin, Clerk/Treasurer Susan Ganther, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Michaele Korbein

Absent:                Emergency Management Director Christohpher Leopold

 

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at the town hall at 6:00 p.m.

 

Verification of Posting

Verification of posting was confirmed by Michaele Korbein.

 

Minutes

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Kein Jax, to approve the minutes from September’s meetings.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Bank Reconciliation

The reconciliation was read aloud and placed on file for the auditor.

 

Vouchers/Checks

A motion was made by Tamaya Loewe, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve general fund checks 14371-14412 totaling $212,726.09, municipal court check 2018 totaling $209.00, and impact fee EFT totaling $208.26 and liability EFT’s totaling $9,467.20.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Operator’s Licenses   None

 

Fire Contracts

A motion was made by Keith Korbein, seconded by Ken Jax, to approve 2025 fire contracts for New Lisbon Fire in the amount of $87,519.19 and Necedah Fire and Rescue in the amount of $68,125.63.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Auditor

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Tamaya Loewe, to hire Hawkins Ash as the Town’s auditor.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Budget Amendment

A motion was made by Ken Jax, seconded by Keith Korbein, to approve Resolution 2024-6 Amending the 2024 Budget.  A roll call vote was taken:  Loewe – Y, Korbein – Y, Haunroth – Y, Jax – Y, Feldman – Y.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

ARPA    None

 

Emergency Management

Chris attended the Wisconsin Town’s Association convention sitting in on presentations related to ambulance funding.

 

There is a reminder during this dry time to be careful burning.

 

Roads

Crack filling has been completed.

Staff are currently mowing and brushing.

Salt/Sand shed construction has begun.

The grinder will be in the brush dump sometime in November.

 

Zoning/Permits

6 permits were issued in September.  3 for new houses.  There have been 54 permits issued for new houses year-to-date.

 

Parks/Town Hall

The roof work has been completed.

Bathroom remodeling continues and should be completed by the end of October.

Painting of the town hall has started.

A concrete pad for the playground has been poured.

 

Board Reports

Keith Korbein:  Attended the WTA Convention.  A lot of good information was provided, especially on EMS funding and consolidation.

Ken Jax:                Would like a review on real estate signs in the High Ridge area.

Gregg Haunroth:  There were no applications received for snow plowing positions.

The recent University Year study provided survey information regarding short-term rentals.  The Planning Commission should review the results.

A home in Whistling Wings has fallen into disrepair and been vandalized.  The owner is deceased and attempts to contact family/estate have gone unanswered.  The Town will consult the Wisconsin Town’s Association legal department on the possibility of cleaning up the property and seeking reimbursement through the property’s tax bill or in some other way.
